Vineyards and Territory
Roots in Monferrato
Our Territory
Land of Our Wines
Our farm sits in the heart of the lower Monferrato Astigiano, in Costigliole d’Asti, one of the most renowned areas for Barbera d’Asti. We also have land in Santo Stefano Belbo, the gateway to the Langhe and home of Moscato d’Asti, and in Nizza Monferrato, the cradle of the prestigious NIZZA DOCG. Together, these UNESCO-listed territories span around 12 hectares of vineyards and form the beating heart of our production.
We cultivate native varieties like Barbera and Nebbiolo on these rolling hillsides and historic vineyards, alongside select international grapes that thrive in this exceptional setting.
Every corner of this land tells a story of age-old traditions and a profound bond with nature, and you can taste it in every glass of our wines.
Santo Stefano Belbo
Tenuta Piansrej
“An Piansrej” is the local name for the place where our family-run winery first began, producing Moscato and Nebbiolo grapes.
This historic farmhouse dates back to the late 1800s and sits in one of the best areas for crafting my wines.
It stands among the rolling Langhe hills often celebrated by Cesare Pavese, right under the historic tower of Santo Stefano Belbo. The winery was upgraded in 2012 with new Moscato Bianco di Canelli and Nebbiolo vineyards. Certified organic since 2019, it’s the heart of my Mò Frem® production, which started in 2020.
I also grow grapes here for my Langhe DOC Nebbiolo.
Costigliole d’Asti
Tenuta San Martino
Our farm is in the San Martino district of Costigliole d’Asti, nestled in a historic farmhouse on a panoramic ridge overlooking the Tanaro Valley and the gently rolling hills of the lower Asti Monferrato.
This centuries-old property was once owned by Marquis Filippo Antonio Asinari di San Marzano, who considered it one of his favorites.
We have about 8 hectares of vineyards, where we grow native varieties like Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Grignolino, together with Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay.
These vineyards are now certified organic. This is where my Barbera d’Asti DOCG and Superiore, Piemonte Sauvignon, and Piemonte Merlot DOC are born. Acquired in 2016 and extensively refurbished, the estate is also home to our Monvì Wine Relais, where wine and hospitality come together for a one-of-a-kind experience.
Nizza Monferrato
Tenuta La Romana
La Romana is a historic estate dating back to the 1600s. It was originally owned by the Counts Cordara di Calamandrana from the 1500s to 1700s and then by the Counts Veggi di Castelletto Molina from the 1800s to 1900s.
My family purchased it in the 1990s and carried out a careful, respectful renovation.
Today, it’s home to a prestigious agriturismo, surrounded by 22 hectares of vineyards.
These vines supply the grapes for my Barbera Superiore DOCG and my NIZZA DOCG.
A Certain Way of Doing Things
From vine to glass
From the vineyard to the glass, everything reflects my philosophy of respecting the land, championing organic methods, and embracing artisanal care. Tradition and innovation come together to create authentic wines that celebrate Monferrato in every sip.
